President names three MPs going to Geneva Featured

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed three representatives parliamentarians Sarath Amunugama and Mahinda Samarasinghe and the Northern Province Governor Dr. Suren Raghvan to attend the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions currently underway in Geneva.

These representatives are to appeal to the UNHRC to allow Sri Lanka the opportunity resolve its own issues.

President Sirisena stated this at the meeting held with heads of media institutes this morning (06).

Meanwhile, the President said that the National Economic Council is conducting investigations into the ETI transaction and if further investigations are needed, it could be reported to the Presidential Commission.

The President assured that no matter who opposes it, he is determined to enact the death penalty for drug racketeers.
