Milk powder upped by Rs. 60 based on formula!

At a time when there are concerns regarding the standard of the imported milk powder, the Consumer Affairs Authority had decided today to approve the increase the price of imported milk powder by Rs. 60 per kilo.

Accordingly, a kilo of imported milk powder which stood at Rs. 860 has been increased to Rs. 920.

The approval of the Consumer Affairs Authority has also been obtained for the increase of Rs. 25 for a 400 g packet of imported milk powder which has been increased from Rs. 345 to Rs. 370.

Cabinet approval was received recently to implement the pricing formula for imported milk powder.

The milk powder importers had earlier threatened the government that they would not clear the stocks of milk powder from customs unless the government agrees to increase milk powder by Rs. 100.

Local milk powder prices unchanged!

However, it is reported that there would not be an increase in the local milk powder prices.
