HR allegations against Malik : Allegations against Customs too

The Presidential Commission has received a complaint against Minister Malik Samarawickrama alleging that he had violated the human rights of the public.

It stated that by signing the Free Trade Agreement with Singapore, he is alleged to have acted arbitrarily and committed serious misappropriations, which has violated the rights of the people and the conditions of the agreement had also been violated.

The complaint had been lodged by the National Unions Front and the GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge.

Customs Complaint

Meanwhile, the Presidential Commission has also received a complaint regarding an alleged fraud in the Customs Department.

Further, a complaint had also been received by this commission alleging that the evaluation process regarding the damage caused by the June 05th, 2016 explosion at the Army camp in Salawa, Kosgama had not been cone satisfactorily.

The Presidential Commission noted that complaints would be accepted until March 19th.
