Sagala should resign – presidential adviser Featured

Minister of law and order Sagala Ratnayake should resign from his position if it was him who had given the controversial telephone call to IGP Pujith Jayasundara, presidential adviser Shiral Lakthilake says.

There is reasonable suspicion that minister Ratnayake was the caller, when Jayasundara answered the call to his mobile phone while addressing a function in Ratnapura, said Lakthilake.SagalaR 670px 02 12 16

The presidential adviser, in an interview regarding the issue, alleged that persons who amassed wealth through deals with thieves were now running the government.

He noted that part of that telephone conversation was in English and that it referred to a person identified as Nilame.

The police chief still has a chance to correct himself by arresting the person in question, but the caller should have no excuse, said Lakthilake.
